The Fiftyin10 Challenge: A Decade of Discovery and Adventure
Welcome to Fiftyin10.com.
So to kick off my 50th birthday, I have decided to create a 50 point bucket list and give myself 10 years to complete the tasks. Since one of the bucket list items is to do more creation (primarily video), this site will also contain video and images as I plan and or complete tasks. This site isn't going to be super interactive or even really designed well. Just built with the basic Google Sites template to make it easy and painless. Why? Because I've had to deal with websites for more than 3 decades. Now I just want simplicity. So that's what we have here. If I pick it up and start using it more and get some decent engagement, then maybe I will do some upgrades and bring some more active elements and such.
Meet the Man Behind Fiftyin10.com: Overcoming Adversity and Chasing Dreams
Two years ago, an unfortunate skiing accident left our protagonist with a severely broken tibia and a long road to recovery. Today, he stands tall and ready to embark on an ambitious and inspiring journey - to complete 50 bucket list items in 10 years. Welcome to Fiftyin10.com, a testament to the resilience of the human spirit and the power of perseverance. In this blog, we'll follow his progress as he documents his adventures through captivating text, video, and imagery.
A Life-Altering Skiing Accident: The Catalyst for Change
Back in December 2020, our protagonist was enjoying a day at Snow Valley, a local skiing hill, when a fateful turn of events changed his life forever. On his second run of the day, he caught the inside of his left ski while going at 54 km/h down the Family Hill. Due to improper DIN settings, his skis didn't come off, resulting in a severe tibia fracture that required surgery. The road to recovery was long and arduous, but it has ultimately led to the birth of Fiftyin10.com.
Introducing Fiftyin10.com: A Journey of Personal Growth and Exploration
Our protagonist has come a long way since his accident, having spent the past two years relearning how to walk. Now, with renewed determination and a zest for life, he's ready to tackle his ambitious project: completing 50 bucket list items in 10 years. Fiftyin10.com will serve as a platform for sharing his incredible journey with the world, as he works toward achieving his dreams and inspiring others along the way.
The Bucket List: Dreams, Adventures, and Challenges
From ziplining to videos, each item on the bucket list represents a personal goal or aspiration for our protagonist. As he progresses through the list, he'll document his experiences on Fiftyin10.com, providing readers with insights, reflections, and tips for tackling their own bucket list items.
Documenting the Journey: Text, Video, and Imagery
Fiftyin10.com is not just about checking off items on a list. It's also a platform for storytelling, with our protagonist sharing his adventures through a combination of text, video, and imagery. By capturing the essence of each experience, he hopes to inspire others to embrace their passions and face their challenges head-on.

Make sure to check out my video here! But don't get too excited. This was supposed to be a 1 minute video edit to post on socials, but I forgot that once I actually started. So now it's going to be this blog post. You will also notice that the edit and flow are not that great, but being my first actual video and the first time ever using Final Cut Pro, I am not too upset about it.
Feel free to follow along on my journey. I will post some of my Instagram clips, as well as YouTube videos as I figure out how to and or complete my tasks. My 50th birthday is April 10th 2023, so that is when I launched the list.
See you then,
Patrick.
